Cou nterpoint: nobody else is taking responsibility for shootings, why should Mandalay Bay?

Boycotting them is easier said than done, they own half of the strip. New York New York, Circus Circus, Luxor, Mandalay Bay.......

It’s garbge reporting like this that is eroding society. The article deliberately leaves out major facts to make it look like an evil act. MGM is counter suing and not seeking any damages beyond having the cases dropped. MGM is the victim here. A terrible thing happened but it was not MGMs fault. These people saw dollar signs and decided to sue first.

My thoughts and prayers are with the judges for a speedy dismissal.

Is this satire or serious?

This. The article didn’t actually go into what the suites were about, other than to say MGM is bad. The victims shouldn’t be suing MGM, it wasn’t their fault. But, America, so sue somebody / anybody to get money from any situation.

I wish it was a joke. Think for your self and look into the facts. This article (and many others on splinter) is deliberately very misleading.

Can’t accidentally patronize a MGM Vegas strip property if you don't go to the Vegas strip.

This is from the Splinter article itself.
“ MGM argued that any lawsuits holding the company responsible for injuries and death that occurred during the shooting should be “ dismissed ” because the company took reasonable precautions to prevent mass violence, such as hiring a security vendor.”
IMO if they’re just getting any potential lawsuits dismissed, then I don’t have a problem with it. They didn’t do anything negligent or to encourage the shooting. So they shouldn’t be getting sued for it.

I used to go to the Atlantic City one all the time, was really disappointed one time to find it closed. I mean, the Knife & Fork is pretty good, too, but I wanted a caviar platter dammit.

Also the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Yeah, that's true. But "MGM is the victim here"? Seriously? We're talking about survivors and relatives of the deceased of a mass shooting, and MGM is the victim? That's a bridge too far

Thats probably true. But the original poster stated MGM is the victim here, which boggles my mind in a discussion about a mass shooting.
